Made for you

Why you need Macramé for Jewelry

Makers who enjoy fine, detailed work
Beaders who want to add knotting to their skill set
Anyone making personalized gifts for friends and family
Crafters who want small projects that fit in a pocket-sized kit

Jewelry is where macramé gets small, precise and very satisfying. Macramé for Jewelry is a 124-page pattern book with seventeen projects arranged in three chapters: bracelets, necklaces and earrings.

Macrame jewelry patterns for bracelets

The first project, the Serenity Bracelet, is designed as a gentle introduction to micro-macramé. It uses three lengths of C-Lon cord, purple seed beads and size 6 beads, a focal bead and a button closure, and it teaches three things at once: the flat (square) knot, beading, and keeping tension even. It finishes at 7 inches, and the instructions show exactly where to add knots if you need it longer.

Six more bracelets follow, each introducing a different look: a Modern bracelet, a Black and Red bracelet, a Fish Bone design, a Side by Side bracelet, the cascading Endless Falls and an openwork Filigree bracelet.

Necklaces and pendants

The necklace chapter includes a classic macramé necklace, a pendant, a necklace with a stone pendant, a macramé choker and a necklace featuring decorative knots. The stone pendant project is especially useful if you want to wrap a crystal or pebble you already own.

Earrings

Five earring designs close the book: tassel earrings, hoop earrings, rhombus earrings, fringe earrings and leaf-shaped earrings. They are lightweight, quick to make as a pair and a great way to experiment with color.

How the patterns help you

Projects list the knots used and the materials, including bead sizes and colors, before the steps begin. Instructions refer to cords by number from left to right, which makes it much easier to follow the fine work. Useful notes along the way explain where to adjust length and how to test a closure before you finish. Zoom in on the PDF on a tablet to see the small details clearly.

Frequently asked questions

What is micro-macramé?

Micro-macramé uses the same knots as larger macramé but with thin cords, often around 1 mm or less, to create detailed pieces such as bracelets and earrings. The Serenity bracelet is written as a novice introduction to it, focusing on the flat knot, beading and even tension.

What cord do the jewelry projects use?

Several projects use nylon beading cord such as C-Lon, which holds knots crisply and comes in many colors. Each pattern lists the exact cord, lengths and beads required, so check the materials list for the project you want before buying supplies.

How do I adjust a bracelet to fit?

The patterns point out where to add or remove knots to change length. In the Serenity bracelet, for example, you add flat knots in one section and the same number in a later step to keep it balanced. You can also test the button closure early and adjust the loop.
